Restore a wallet
How restoring an existing Phoenix wallet from a recovery phrase works, and what to expect afterwards.
Restoration happens entirely in the desktop application. You install Phoenix on the computer you want to use, choose the restore option, and enter your recovery phrase there.
After restoring
- The wallet re-derives your keys from the recovery phrase.
- Balances and history are rebuilt from network data, which can take some time.
- Lightning funds depend on channel state, so allow the application to finish syncing before judging balances.
