How to receive bitcoin in Phoenix Wallet over Lightning or on-chain.
Phoenix can receive bitcoin two ways: as a Lightning payment against an invoice, or as an on-chain Bitcoin transaction to an address.
Choosing a method
- Lightning suits smaller, everyday amounts and confirms quickly.
- On-chain suits larger amounts and transfers from services that only support Bitcoin addresses.
Practical notes
Lightning invoices expire, so generate a fresh one if a sender waits too long. Receiving over Lightning may require channel capacity, which can involve a fee — the application shows applicable costs before you confirm.
