Phoenix is designed around self-custody. Your private keys and recovery information stay under your control on your own computer, and no account or custodian stands between you and your bitcoin.
What that means in practice
- You hold the only backup of your wallet: the recovery phrase.
- No one can freeze, reverse or recover your funds on your behalf.
- Keeping your computer and your backup safe is part of keeping your bitcoin safe.
